Q3 – What Benefits are there to use SpeakerHeads?

A: 1 – The Specially Designed Foam Center Cap gives the right amount of Back Pressure to provide a Great beater/stick Feel and Response, But can be Removed based on preference.

A: 2 – The Cone Assembly provides a Variety of  Miking Options that other products can’t give.

Q6 – Why are there two sets of instructions?

A: The Trace First Method is used mainly when the head is off the drum (if buying a new head to install)  The Direct Cut Method is used typically when reusing the head (See Q7) or leaving it on the drum.

Q7 – I Presently have a Trim Ring or Kickport® Installed  – Can I Still Reuse the Head?

A: In most cases – YES! Measure from the Edge of the Hole to the Rim and check the chart below:

KICK DRUM DISTANCE FROM RIM
20″ 3/4″
22″ 1 3/4″
24″ 2 3/4″
26″ 3 3/4″

Q8 – How much do I re tighten the head after the installation?

A: The head can remain at normal tension, however, some of the overtone characteristics can be changed by adjusting the tension on the head.  Loose typically allows more drum ringing and tightening progressively dampens    them.

Q9 – How Rugged are they for gigging?

A: The Kits are made from the Highest Quality Materials and are designed to last.  They’ve been Road Tested for Years without Failure in Every Kind of Environment and Temperature!  We recommend carrying and storing the Drum with the Resonant Side Down for Maximum Protection.
